My name is Richard Sweetland and my degree is in Electronics Engineering.  When I got out of the Army I went to work for General Electric as an International Field Service Representative specializing in High Power Long Range Radar.  During this time I spent one year in Shemya, Alaska, three years in Lampang, Thailand, and two years in Syracuse, NY.

After that I went into Commercial Broadcasting, where I built half a dozen stations and I was Chief Engineer of a dozen others.  Most of this time was spent in Texas, California, New Mexico, and Louisiana.  I also owned a FM Station in New Mexico for three years.

My next job was with the US State Department as a Foreign Service Officer with the International Broadcasting Bureau.  I spent six years in the Philippines, three years in Greece, five years in Thailand, three years in Washington and two years in North Carolina.

When I retired from the government I returned to Virginia and became a Real Estate Agent.  I am licensed for all of Virginia; but I specialized in Arlington and Fairfax County.
